Our Vision
JH Farms is excited about the opportunity ahead. After purchasing a 292 acre farm in beautiful Commanda, Ontario in 2018, we (Chris and Missy) immediately got to work. The main house was reduced to the foundation and rebuilt to a full 2 story home.
Our plan heading into 2021 was to begin in earnest the farming, but after a call from a friend with a simple request for Hot Chocolate Bombs - everything changed. We began our sales in November 2020, and raced ahead of schedule to produce more than 1,600 Hot Chocolate Bombs leading up to Christmas.
We know that everyone thinks we are now a chocolate shop, and we are and will continue to be releasing new products in that area. But we strive to be so much more. So with that, we'd like to take this opportunity to unveil the vision of JH Farms:
JH Farms is a Farm to Table Hobby Farm & Home Business.
What does that mean?
We aspire to grow fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, and a variety of other fresh food on our farm. We will raise chickens to lay fresh eggs, and of course a marvelous herb garden.
We do intend to share these fresh products with you at our farm stand and local markets, but our main priority will be to utilize these ingredients to make you fresh local delights.
Imagine one of our Chocolate Bombs in the fall, as a Pumpkin Spice Latte - with the pumpkins from our garden, along with fresh cinnamon and ginger from our plants.
Gummy Bears and Suckers with fresh fruits such as apple, watermelon, cherry, strawberry - all directly from our garden.
Perhaps you'd be more tempted to treat your furry loved friends with apple or pumpkin dog biscuits made with the freshest ingredients from right outside the kitchen door.
2021 and Beyond
We look forward to welcoming you to our farm as we continue to grow and restore the property. We look forward to providing you seasonal products that are fresh and ready to enjoy.
